Word to Newcomers
Welcome! If your are a Catholic who is thinking about coming back to the traditional Latin Mass, you probably have a number of questions. We have remained faithful to the traditional Latin Mass & Sacraments not out of nostalgia, love of Latin, nor "disobedience," but because it is the Catholic thing to do. We believe the traditional Mass to be the perfect expression of the unchangeable Catholic teaching of the nature of the Mass and the Holy Eucharist, as well as, a refuge from and antidote to the myriad false teachings and sacrilegious practice, which have found their way into our parishes, as a result of the New Liturgy and the "changes" in the Church. We believe that we have a right to assist at the traditional Mass, guaranteed in perpetuity by Pope St. Pius V, which no one can take away from us, and a duty to assist at this Mass so we can save our souls.

ALWAYS remember to wear your "Sunday Best" when assisting at Sunday Mass & Holy Days.
Ladies & girls: must wear a modest dress and have their heads covered with either a hat or chapel veil. Pants, sleeve-less, see-thru, mini skirts/dresses, low-cut, or tight-fitting clothes do not meet the norms of Christian modesty and, therefore, are NOT acceptable.
Men & boys: should wear dress pants & shoes, coat (or jacket or sweater) & tie. Jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, earrings, are not proper attire for Sunday Mass or Holy Days and, therefore, are NOT acceptable.
Out of Respect for our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament
... and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

ONE MUST:
-
Be a Roman Catholic, validly baptized with the TRADITIONAL LATIN CEREMONY, therefore, if you have been baptized in the New English Rite (since May 15, 1969), it is necessary to bring this to the attention of the priest.
-
Be in a state of sanctifying grace, that is free of mortal sin ... having made a good confession to a TRADITIONAL Catholic priest.
-
Accept and believe all TRADITIONAL doctrine and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, especially regarding marriage. Anyone who has received a marriage ANNULMENT must bring this to the attention of the priest before receiving Holy Communion.
-
Be fasting for at least THREE HOURS from solid food and alcoholic beverages and one hour from liquids (water may be taken at any time). Note: all are encouraged to fast from midnight (Apostolic Fast).
-
Assist EXCLUSIVELY AT THE TRADITIONAL Latin Mass. Anyone who assists at the modern, so-called New Mass, or any New Church sponsored Latin Masses (aka Indult Mass) may not receive the sacraments here.
Purgatorian Society
There is a monthly REQUIEM MASS (High Mass, if possible) offered for the repose of the souls of all who have been enrolled in the PURGATORIAN SOCIETY (Members are also remembered at every Daily Mass). Enroll your loved ones (Catholics Only), living or deceased, for the one-time stipend of $35 per person. For an additional $7 a Memorial Presentation Folder can be sent on your behalf.
Lazarus Burial Fund
A fund has been established to assist those Catholics of our parishes who die without the financial means to have a traditional Catholic burial. Commonly, without help, they are faced with the terrible prospect of being cremated by their non-Catholic relatives or even the State. This fund is an excellent way to fulfill one of the Corporal Works of Mercy (e.g. "To bury the dead").
In order to receive a tax deduction, please make your check out to "Blessed Sacrament Church," and indicate that it is for the "Lazarus Fund." Thank you for your continued generosity!
1st Fridays & 1st Saturdays
Why are they important for our salvation?
